Our Values

We are licensed clinical social workers. We love what we do.

We value equity and recognize the drastically increasing barriers to receiving mental health care. As such we offer a limited number of sliding scale sessions and encourage you to reach out with concerns regarding financial barriers.

Rather than using a medical-model of mental health treatment, we utilize a wellness model. The medical model aims to return individuals to a window of "normalcy" whereas a wellness model acknowledges there is no one-size-fits all for healing.

We feel the wellness model is better equipped to honor the fact that healing looks different for each person. This approach supports us in seeing the ongoing potential to reduce suffering and increase enjoyment, satisfaction, and ease.

Our goal is to promote your wellbeing and the growth you seek in life.

We are dedicated to the discernment of truth, no matter how complex the circumstances.

We recognize the destruction, devastation, and tragedy that befell the indigenous peoples and families who have known this land as home for time immemorial when white colonizers arrived around 1850.

We recognize the wisdom lineages and wisdom keepers of the Coast Salish Nations, including the Lummi and Nooksack Nations.

We recognize the benefits we receive from the numberless generations of intimacy and deep relationship carried through by these Nations with Coast Salish land and waters.

We recognize the profound effects of genocide and forced removal that occurred and continue to occur on this land today by those who hold systemic privilege and seek domination and self-interest.

We recognize that racism and all forms of oppression/domination are born of fear.

We recognize that we are in positions of systemic privilege due to these methods of oppression and domination.

We recognize the incalculable injustice and violence that was and is perpetrated against People of the Global Majority, including Indigenous People and Black People.

We recognize the injustice and violence that was and is perpetrated against people of various sexualities, ethnicities, and genders.

We recognize that these systems of injustice and violence lead to devastation, suffering, and division for all.

We recognize the unfathomable potential we have when we come together as a united community of life on Earth, humbled by the truth of interdependence, and willing to be uncomfortable while learning new ways.

We recognize that our existence is interdependent with all life.

We recognize the sacred rights of all beings, human and more-than human.

We honor and appreciate the necessity of learning to care for all life on Earth.
